Who we are
Red Mesa Development ("Red Mesa") is a software studio in Calgary, Alberta. This policy explains how we handle personal information through redmesa.dev and our services. We follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's PIPEDA.
What we collect
When you fill out our contact form: your name, business name, email, phone number, the service you are interested in, and your message.
When you become a client: billing details, account logins you choose to share with us (for example, social media access), and the files and content you send for your project.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to you, prepare quotes, deliver and support our services, send invoices, and keep our site working well. We only email you about your project or account unless you ask to hear from us about other things. We never sell your information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, such as hosting, email, and payment processing. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
Some of these providers may store data outside Canada, where it may be subject to local laws. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your clients' data
When we host your website or run RedSuite for you, your customers' information (like form submissions, leads, or invoices) belongs to you. We process it only to provide the service, we do not use it for anything else, and you can export or delete it at any time.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for the site to work. We do not use advertising trackers. You can block cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work.
Storage and security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access limited to the people who need it, and regular updates to the systems we run. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages for up to two years if you do not become a client. We keep client records for as long as we work together, plus the period required for tax and accounting purposes. After that, we delete or anonymize it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent for us to use it. Email us and we will respond within 45 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we update the effective date above. For important changes, we email active clients. Privacy questions or requests go to Red Mesa Development, Calgary, Alberta.
